Black Knight to c2 followed by Black Knight to a3 and Black Queen to b1 or c2 (depending on White King's position) looks pretty much game over for White.

Problem is, Black N to a3 leads to White K back to a1 to prevent mate. Black Q to b1 is protected by White's R, and c2 is defensible.

After N to c2, I would go Q to e3 and take for material advantage. I see lines that lead to mate, I but I do not see a forced one yet.

I think after Nc2+ Kb1 Na3+ Ka1 it's Qb1+ Rxb1 Nc2++. Was trying to find a way for the Queen sacrifice to work for a while before realising it could be combined with the Knight check at the beginning to prevent the King taking.

Just realised that's probably what magicolli meant by pretty much game over and I misunderstood thinking they'd missed the Rook. Nice problem, thanks for posting it.

The rook traps the king, leading to mate. I didn’t realize at first.

magicolli is correct. SOLUTION: 1. ... Kc2+ 2. Kb1 Ka3+ 3. Ka1 Qb1+ 4. Rxb1 Kc2# <<<>>> bKnight c2 check, wKing b1, bKnight a3 check, wKing a1, bQueen b1 check, wRook captures bQueen, bKnight c2 checkmate.
