It really wasn't that bad (and could've been much worse). As long as you took full advantage of the bonus ARP while it was available (like with Steam Quests) it was still a net positive.

It was still 3 days of 20% extra ARP and if you stacked it with the one for steam quests it was a huge extra.

Not really. As long as you unequipped it BEFORE earning points when the negative points would kick in, you'd simply be back to square one anyway.

The whole thing cost 40 ARP (10 ARP for the artifact 30 ARP for 2 fragments) and you got maybe max -3 ARP on April fools if you unequipped it immediately. And with my artifacts it made me about +30 ARP before April 1st.

The worst part was losing the 2 fragments as you can't replace them easily without buying 10 of them

Absolutely. But mostly because the current equipped items I have allows me to retain proper discounts while earning ARP. It's an understatement to say I dodged a bullet. I dodged what would've been an entire tragedy with that weird mistake!
