CAN WE NOT HAVE QUESTS THAT REQUIRE KERNEL LEVEL ANTI CHEAT ESPECIALLY IF IT DOESNT HAVE THE COURTESY TO REMOVE ITSELF AFTER UNINSTALL https://na.alienwarearena.com/steam/quests/skate

Lots of games have them nowadays.

<mention>TurdFerguson87</mention> Which is not a good reason or excuse to have them at all.

As long as the average person doesn't care, it won't go away. Best you can do is decide for yourself. I won't touch anything with kernel anti-cheat or worse (BF6 and Secure Boot access).

I think its a fair thing to ask for, and we can be mindful of it when selecting steam quests in the future. but as mentioned above yes, so many games have anticheats now that we wouldnt want to limit available games that way

I agree with this sentiment (though perhaps not the all caps). Hate the constant install of anti-cheat software from many weekly quests, and others. Esp. worrying when some come from countries with known APT actors.

I should of added (if space permitted): Perhaps a headsup/informational in the quest name: Apex Legends (Easy Anti-Cheat)

<mention>AW_Tom</mention> Thank you for considering it. Kernel-level anti-cheat isn't just unsafe for PCs because of malicious companies stealing data, but it prevents games being played on non-Windows operating systems, like Linux.

<mention>AW_Tom</mention> APPRECIATE THE RECEPTIVE REPLY, AND I GET UR POINTS. I THINK <mention>Augestflex</mention> HAD A SOLID COMPROMISE POINT ABOUT THE NOTING THE ANTI CHEAT THING. ALSO, <mention>Augestflex</mention> SORRY ABOUT THE CAP

You don't need to install Javelin Anticheat to get credits. Just don't allow the Javelin installer to run. The game itself will give an error message but don't close out of the game with the error message on, Steam still thinks it's running
