Full Launch for Tiny Glade!
Tiny Glade is a new indie that’s a dream come true for cozy gamers who like their games with a side of cottage-core cuteness! It’s a self-described “small diorama builder” with procedurally created elements that take a lot of the labor out of the process. Gamers can construct anything they want from small cottages to huge castles! Whether you've been keeping up with the developer's updates on TikTok like I have or if you've never heard of it, it's worth checking out to see if it's for you!
Building in Tiny Glade is quite easy and intuitive as elements interact with each other automatically with limited input from the user. Building a path to a house will automatically make a door appear once you get to the building, combining two smaller windows will create a bigger bay window, and lamps will give you a soft aesthetic glow as soon as they are placed. It’s not quite like building, as much as molding the environment.
If you’re concerned about something coming along and threatening the serene scene you’ve just created, don’t fret! No enemies are coming to attack your peaceful dwellings because, well, there are no inhabitants at all. The only creatures in Tiny Glade are sweet little critters who amble into your environment automatically. Sheep, ducks, and other birds grace you with their presence as they meander around with no worry in their sweet little heads. Give the sheep a pat and sign a breath of relief you won't crush them or drown them when you’re constructing your buildings and bodies of water. Building over a sheep will either push them out of the way or simply hide the creature until you remove it, building a pond under a sheep prompts them to bring out their trusty life floaty as they swim to shore, and removing something they're standing on will give them a little umbrella to float back to the ground with. It’s little details like these that tell you the designers truly wanted this to be a wholesome gaming experience.
You know a game is really onto something when the most common complaint is that there just isn’t enough of it! Players have said they wished some of the elements weren’t left up to chance, and that they got to customize the finer details the game generates for you like vegetation and decay on buildings. One of the main aspects of the game is a bit of a double-edged sword. There are no wrong answers! You can create anything you’d like within the confines of the game, and it won't keep score. Although that’s a refreshing quality to have, some players are looking for a bit more guidance after they’ve exhausted their creative juices. For some, this might not be enough to hold their attention, but for others, this is just the right reprieve they might be looking for while they take a break from an intense boss battle or stressful multiplayer match. Although Tiny Glad is just a quick bite of wholesomeness for some, the developers haven't ruled out the potential for additional content down the road!
With the winter months approaching for some regions, Tiny Glade looks like the perfect way to spend a few hours with a warm blanket!
