Remnant 2 Releases Trailer for The Forgotten Kingdom DLC
Bundles are available now if you'd like to jump into master your skills in Remnant 2 before the new DLC launches!
Remnant 2 delighted gamers last year with its enjoyable co-op play, stunning visuals, and unique procedurally generated elements. The release cadence continues with its new DLC titled “The Forgotten Kingdom” on April 23rd. Priced at just $10, the content builds on the world of Yaesha, a jungle infested by the big bad Root and filled with Satyrs. This latest DLC enriches the base game just as the first expansion, The Awakened King, did when it not only gave players a “one-shot” to play through, but also added its boss fights, dungeons, and zones as potential destinations within the game. This adds to the base game by further diversifying the options of the procedurally generated world. With each offering at a price of only $10, it looks like you’re definitely getting a lot of bang for your buck.
In an interview with PCGamer, Principal designer Ben Cureton explains that the team is using the opportunity to learn new things and experiment with the way the team approaches development. "The team is using this as an experiment to try new things, right? Like we've done the procedural stuff before, but that doesn't mean it always has to be fully procedural," Cureton notes, saying that the goal is to "give you that [handmade] experience" the first time around, "but then: 'Wait, this is new, this isn't the same, this loot is different, this door is taking me somewhere else'… It's a really cool opportunity."
The Forgotten Kingdom will bring a new story, items, bosses, weapons, amulets, and rings. A new Archetype has also been revealed, the Invoker. While details are scarce, it will make use of the spiritual magic of the jungle. Players will reveal the mystery of Yaesha's lost tribe and a vengeful stone spirit called Lydusa, and her living stone constructs. Check out the trailer below to get a better look at the upcoming DLC!
