Teaser Trailer Released for Mountaintop Studios' First Game!

Mountaintop Studios released a teaser trailer for the studio’s first game. Not much can be deciphered by the video, but it’s always fun to get our guesses in and speculate before the game launches. Officially unannounced, there’s little to be known specifically, but according to Mountaintop Studios’ website, they aim to create “multiplayer games for players who crave a challenge.” From what we can tell in the teaser and gather from a few interviews this competitive shooter looks to be in a stylized style of animation, there will be different operators, we’ve got a sneak peek of a few maps, and four briefs flashed of symbols or logos that could represent factions within the game. In a hiring post from June 21st Mountaintop Studios writes, "The game is set in a brand new universe, inspired by our favorite comics, anime, and manga. It’s a world where players can build a legacy through teamwork and competition.” That and a few art stills are all we have to go off of for now, let's hope we get a release trailer and more information on the game here soon!

Mountaintop Studios is fairly new, formed in 2020 by a co-founder of Oculus, Nate Mitchell with the goal to eliminate crunch and toxic culture pervasive in game studios and make one that’s “collaborative, anti-crunch, diverse and inclusive.” Joining Mitchell are talented veteran developers and artists from AAA studios like Bungie, Naughty Dog, Blizzard, and Respawn. The studio takes a “remote-first” approach to development which gives them the flexibility to hire talent from all areas, and opens up the job to the most talented prospects.

I’m getting maybe a Valorant or Overwatch vibe from the teaser -I would love to hear everyone's thoughts!

Yep, seems to be more Valorant than Counter-Strike. Neat to see the genre getting bigger after CS:GO held the top position for so long.

Isn't there already too many online shooter games already? Some of them already died before barely starting. Like LawBreakers, Hyper Scape, Battle Born and other gameas.

There's a Battleborn for every Overwatch. If all the new games die nothing changes, and if some of them succeed you have more to choose from.

Inception

Not a fan of tactical shooters, not CSGO, not Valorant so I probably won't even try this one.
