New free update and DLC available for Planet Zoo!
The new 1.14 update is here and free for owners of Planet Zoo! Alongside some routine bug fixes and maintenance, this update has a few gems. There’s a new ability to change the color of your staff’s uniforms (fantastic news for those that are picky about aesthetics), new Scenic Mode and the Cinematic Route Editor which are perfect for capturing vista shots and cinematic videos of your zoo, and last but not least- the ability for certain animals to spit on your visitors! Frontier Developments reports that the new ability won't affect the happiness of the guests, but it will be enough to detour them away to view another animal that won't grace them with a salivary surprise.
Alongside the update is a new DLC pack with some very adorable new animals! The Arid Animal Pack is now available for $9.99 for those that already own the base game. The animals included are the dromedary camel (equipped with new spitting capabilities!), African crested porcupine, addax, Somali wild ass, black rhino, sand cat, dama gazelle, and the elusive desert horned viper. All very iconic animals, but if you haven’t had a chance to see how adorable sand cats are, please feast your eyes on these:
Not only are these actual animals and not cuddly stuffed toys, but they are one of the smallest species in the game. Developers of Planet Zoo also report that this pack comes with new animations and that the sand cats will use “enrichment items such as the Rubbing Pads and Cardboard Box in wholly unique ways.” I’m no expert, but I’m willing to bet that these new animations will be adorable. There is also a new scenario in this DLC! Tiffany Summers has just received a new plot of land from her father in the Arabian Desert and has asked you to help her build an incredible new park and throw a party to celebrate! Whatever your interest might be, this update and new DLC have enough adorable and useful additions to keep fans of the game interested, or perhaps pique the interest of someone on the fence about diving into the Planet Zoo world!
