Hi, i'm looking into buying another pc (the other one is beginning to get outdated). And after some time looking i quickly realised that a used pc can save you hundreds of dollars, but there must be some kind of downside buying a used one. Do you guys have any tips or things i should keep in mind when buying a used?

Beware of used hard drives (unless you can check its state e.g. using Crystal Disk Info), and mechanical parts in general (like coolers). The perfect situation would be if you woulds be able to perform mem test and stress test of PC. IMHO buying used CPUs, motherboards (take a look at capacitors!), RAM and GPUs is not so risky like buying used SSDs/HDDs, coolers, keyboards or mouses.

Play solo, live together or vice versa?

I advise against buying used SSDs.

Because of warranty conditions. They usually refer to TBW parameter (see this or this or SMART attribute E9). In general - if you are not sure about usage history of the SSD/HDD you are going to buy - better don't buy it. Unless you have quite good understanding of the tool like Crystal Disk Info to check disks. If the disk was If the disc has been used extensively (many write operations), it can die in a few months.

Can be but not usually, most used parts  are put through some kind of stress test, before they are even bought by the person selling the used product.
