No one is forcing you to do anything but if you were to participate you will almost certainly earn 150 ARP which if it is like the last community event will be eligible to be boosted with an ARP booster.

Save your 2x multiplier and start it right before we get the 100 ARP at 50K hours it will double ARP but may take us a while to get there.

And make sure you join the event now so your included when the awards start getting rolled out.

Just join the event.  I'm pretty sure you don't even need to play the game to get any of the rewards you can just join and left everyone else earn the rewards for you and if you do play it will help get the rewards.

Nope, gotta have the game in your Steam library to join.

I was wondering, usually every time a new DLC comes out, they let players play DBD for free for a limited time on steam, if i play it on steam for free, would that count?

What part of the website is this community event advertised?  I went thru the link posted at top but otherwise I have not been able to find it by searching, appears to be hidden.
