Predator 2 Case Lighting

Lunar
  • 3

Hi.

I've been troubleshooting for around 3 days straight now. I have an old Alienware Area 51 x58 system, which uses a Predator 2 case. It has the AlienFX lighting daughterboard in it, but no lights turn on at all. I've tried installing (what I think is) the right version of Command Center, checked all the wiring, it all looks good. I don't care if I can't changed the colors, I just want the lights to turn on. I know that may people create modern builds in these cases, and somehow get the lights to work... but HOW!

Some more info:

 - I'm running Windows 7 x64

 - In device manager, the lighting board is detected, but is called "COM4" and has an error icon on it.(I probably need some kind of driver for this?)

If anyone has ANY ideas, I'm going insane here so help is appreciated. Thanks!

Try reaching out to this guy on Twitter, he does a lot of work on old cases and I bet he can help.
