CD Projekt Red to Players: "Unfortunately the save is damaged ... try to keep a lower amount of items and crafting materials"

By now, most of you have heard of the numerous bugs that plague Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red's most recent and most anticipated launch title. However, one bug has emerged to topple the rest, one that is game-breaking and forces players to avoid one of the most integral parts of an rpg. In short, save files cannot exceed 8mb, as observed by players in the Cyberpunk 2077 forum. When brough to CDPR's attention, the only official response that has been received is this:

"Unfortunately the save is damaged and can't be recovered.
Please use an older save file to continue playing and try to keep a lower amount of items and crafting materials.
If you have used the item duplication glitch, please load a save file not affected by it.
The save file size limit might be increased in one of the future patches, but the corrupted files will remain that way."

This is a game-breaking bug that prevents players from engaging in one of the key components of an rpg, looting and crafting everything, yet CDPR has only officially staated that this "might" be fixed. We can only hope that this bug will be fixed as soon as possible, as well as the rest of the bugs plauging the game.

It's also worth pointing out you needed a really large amount of items.  I grabbed everthing I could the entire game and only sold booze- kept all of the food / drink...  No issue.

Releasing in a more or less unfinished state has become the industry standard. But Sony pulling a major release from their storefront and Microsoft and retailers offering unconditional refunds is a whole new dimension. I'm pretty sure the developers at CDPR will achieve a turn-around like we experienced with No Man's Lie (ehm Sky) but the damage is already done. The vultures (ehm law firms) are preparing to sue for damages and what was until now a paragon for the industry lost their reputation in a week.

Lunar

so disappointed in the issues with this game, hopefully one day they will finish it and we will have something we can actually play.

Interstellar

Mass Effect Andromeda is another game that got so much stick from the internet  ,we never got patches or dlc.

Whether we like it or not ,some of these new big open-world game releases need some time to breath and hopefully get fixed.
