Everyone supporting Star Citizen can now play the latest alpha version of the title - Cloud Empire has released update 3.7.

One of the most important innovations is the opportunity to visit the procedurally generated caves. We scan the plantet from the deck of the ship and then we will find out if the planet has an exploratory underground complex (where we can obtain raw materials). New tasks are also associated with the underground corridors - it is searching for missing persons.

A second important news is ship rental. The solution may prove useful, among others in situations where we need the type of ship only for a while and we don't want to add it to the hangar permanently.
The new patch updates the personalization of the character and changes the use of strength. From now on you will be able to sprint longer and recover faster. The artificial intelligence of the battle ship has also improved (more dynamic target selection), while personal weapons have new accessories (e.g. silencers).

We remind you that production is in early access since June 2014.

For those who are not familiar with Star Citizen, you should read 3.7 as 0.3.7., meaning there is a lot of bugs and issues and it won't be really playable until 2022 maybe, when we reach 6.0 /7.0 . But you can already do a lot of cool things in a big and beautiful universe with different planets and activities, or just fly around for fun.

You're right - as I wrote: "production is in early access since June 2014".

2022? You are a true optimist... 2052 seems much more likely, lol.

Sadly, I don't expect to live long enough to see this game being fully launched. If I was 20 or so, it would be a different story, but being quite a bit older, I think, that my chances are quite slim ;)

Waiting till SC is "fully published" its a waste of time and content.

You know, I bought it over 2 years ago and it gave me lots of fun. And new content every few months.

All the changes and upgrades I have seen, are experience in itself - waiting outside is a true waste.

I like FPS mode and SF, so SC suits me. I have no guarantee that CIG will succeed but I have my fun now.

Honestly, before I bought it, I tried a free flight weekend :P  lol

Sorry, I have no idea when the next one might be.

I love the drama this game brings every time it get delayed.  :D

If they ever deliver the complete game they promised and it runs well, i'll check it out but from what i've seen so far its still too buggy.

I'm not optimistic, I'm just following the project from close since it started and extrapolating based on their own calendar and with my experience of the potential delays and complications such a project development can face.

First, as you should know at your age, all the best games take 7, 8, 10 years of development (GTA V, Witcher 3, Skyrim, WOW, LOL, etc).

And these as examples taken from studios already in business with an engine they used and improved for years, and use same techs in updated versions in their games.

So, for the past 7 years, CIG's been working in R&D on the techs and the engine they need to create the world we dream of and they've promised to give us. Since they're trying and imaginating things that not any other studio ever tried or believed in, it takes time and it's a total "running in the dark" kind of work for developers in many ways.

And with all the informations they openly give us about their work and progress, we can estimate that they should have all these required techs working and ready to be used in 2020-2021 with SQ42's beta. Beside these, all the issues you could have between solo game campaign and the mmorpg star citizen are server / client related. But, when you're hosting an Alpha for thousands of players for years, all these issues can be pointed out and sorted out quite quickly.

Which means, once Squadron 42 will be finished and ready for release, in 2021 maybe, SC will already benefit of everything they've learned with SQ42 and these past years, and will be in a state that most players can enjoy to play.

The global playing experience has kept improving more than never these past years, and with all the work they'll add to it with 2-3 more years it will totally be in beta or even release state.

Anyway, everybody will be able to make their mind about it when they'll read reviews about Squadron's 42 Beta, and then of the final game when it will be available to the public.

If the solo game sucks, nobody will believe the mmo could be good, but if it turns out to be an awesome hit, people will have another look on Star Citizen.

Anyway, I know I'll be playing both and love them in 2021-2022, like millions of others gamers.
