Another issue with Windows 10 upgrade

  • 115

Can you remember the problem with updating Win10, caused by games? Time for the next episode of the comedy - this time the problem will be a pendrive or SD card. It turned out that the OS probably has a problem with managing the letters assigned to the drives. How to remedy this? Trivially! Unplug any external data carriers for the time of the update (edit: or wait for another patch ;)).

Just wonderful, think about how many people who refused to update or blocked updates because the risk of losing their work, and digital art.

I encountered this issue and after removing my USB drive I was golden. I like Windows 10 1903, its been pretty smooth.

I still haven't received october update :/ Have you experienced any problems with third party AV (if you're using such software instead of Windows built-in)? I mean this.

At home I only use Microsoft Security Essentials. At work I am using Cisco AMP and it worked without a problem. To be safe its is recomemnded you leave the AV disabled.

The October 1809 update was glitchy for some people but its been stable for some time. I updated so I can use DX12's ray tracing and was working with no problems. One of the other reasons why I jumped to 1903 was because you can test a sandbox. What AV are you using?

I've decided to use Windows 10 built-in AV because I've seen many very positive reviews (also so-called professional benchmarks/tests) and I've to admit - it's good enough. Besides I'm using 3rd party addon for easierr configuration Windows 10 built-in firewall (I mean advanced configuration of the rules). The rest is browser equipped with security-oriented plugins.

I have no problems with Windows 10 or its upgrades (only once I had an issue with sound card drivers), but still I hadn't got an october update.

What sound card do you have? There was an issue with Creative Labs sound cards and 1903. Since I use the onboard audio I haven't been affected. I am not 100% sure it was fixed.

It's realtek (laptop built-in chip). I'm still with 1803.
