Apex Legends declines and Fortnite is back on top of Twitch!

  • 108

After just a couple of weeks following its release Apex Legends has been lost tons of viewers on Twitch, and loosing a lot of players.

Apex Legends has already dropped to 10 million per week.

In February the game peaked at 40 million hours watched on Twitch, an-all time record for any game.

That’s according to the latest StreamElements report (via VGR), which also revealed that in March, one month after Apex Legends launched, only two of the top ten streamers played it regularly, which no doubt contributed to its decline in viewership during the same month.

This decline is spooking the investors of the game.

After suffer which a brief drop during Apex Legends’ launch, Fortnite is now back on top with over 20 million hours watched each week. In fact, setting aside the brief window where Apex Legends dominated Twitch, Fortnite remains the most consistent battle royale game on Twitch.

Whoever viewed as Apex being a real threat, was simply hating on Fortnite.

While both games are indeed BR, the main competitor Apex had to fight was PUBG and they seem to have won this fight. The two, are actually similar games and fight for overlapping, if not identical, playerbase.

Fortnite on the other hand is far more cartoony and with the building system, much different.

It remains to be seen how EA/Respawn responds...there's a lot of potential in Apex, and assuming they get some updates out and modify the pricing of the skins (it's extortionate) it's not a gonner just yet.

Planetary

What do you know. I guess players are prefer graphics over advance mechanics after all.

Lunar

If Apex ever gets the hacker thing under control, the player base may eventually return...
