Tactial Strategy-RPG Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden gets Gameplay Trailer, opens up Pre-Orders

  • 24

A tactical strategy-RPG set in a post-apocalyptic world where remaining humans live and fight with mutated and intelligent animals.

There is a new, nicely done gameplay trailer, in which we get a great early look at how the actual game will look and play. And we like what see. A very atmospheric and interesting world, with beautifully realized levels, tactical strategic gameplay we know from X-COM games with a nice dose of stealth mechanics. We also get a first look at the cast of protagonists Selma, Dux and Bormin, each with their own special abilities. Our sole human party member has Stoneskin, likely boosting her defenses and the other two animal companions Dux the mutated duck and Bormin the boar (ain’t those cute names), with former having a versatile crossbow and later being a heavy-type sporting explosive weaponry and hard-hitting close-quarters moves.

The developers of this promising tactical RPG are the folks at Swedish indie studio The Bearded Ladies. But the main staff are Veterans of the games industry, previously worked on the Hitman games and Ulf Andersson from Payday.

Pre-orders are : Standard Edition for $34.99 containing the base game and 3-day early access, while the Deluxe Edition adds various goodies in form of an artbook, soundtrack and beta access for a cool $54.99.
